Whats been going on this summer and whats cooking good looking!
7.22.09
Greetings Strangers,
I hope everyone is enjoying there summer as much as we are. We have been all over the Midwest preaching the Strange Arrangement gospel to every woman, man, dog, pony and child within ear shot.
Some highlights:
- Spending some time and splitting some gigs with our good friends U.V. Hippo in Muncie, Terre Haute and Chicago
- Playing a long, hot, sweaty and shirtless set at the Closeby Campground before seeing Phish at Deer Creek
- Our first trip to Ann Arbor to play the very prestigious Top of the Park Festival
- A wonderful 4th of July show at the Petunia Festival in Dixon, IL. Despite a full day of rain and muck, all you Strangers came out and jammed with us

P.S.- Check out some new videos on our On The Road Blog and listen to some of our live gigs at archive.org

A Good Review From a Dubuque IA Newspaper
2.2.2009
While a four piece band featuring drums, bass, guitar and keys might not seem to be all that strange of an arrangement, the Chicago band earns its name when they begin playing the above listed instruments. Self-described as progressive-indie-psychedelic, Strange Arrangement might take the occasional cue from prog-rockers like King Crimson and maybe even Pink Floyd at times, but with a much lighter approach (you don't have to be a disaffected paranoid loner or music major to get it). Their catchy original songs meld a few pop hooks and some groovy funk fusion giving the mix a little more bounce. While their playing hints at jazz-worthy chops, Strange Arrangement is way too focused to be just a jam band. It is indeed a strange arrangement.
